Cleveland Gym Floor Suffers Water Damage

A flooding event led to water penetrating the high-quality hardwood gymnasium floor. It lifted up from the concrete base as seen in the first photo. Once the flow of water was stemmed, the areas of pooling water on the surface were vacuumed up to prevent further penetration and seepage. Our SERVPRO technicians accessed the warped area with directed airflow and suction to begin reducing the moisture. Our focus to dry out the water damaged area, leaving the final cleanup of the floor as the actual final task of service, salvaged the wood slats.  It took some days to verify that the RH of the gymnasium was down to normal levels and the concrete base ready to receive the slats which would then be resurfaced and refinished. Many municipalities rely on our expertise when they have a mold, fire, or water issue.
